Nonfiction: Polar Bears!

We will be starting to talk about nonfiction and how to write facts.  We will start this unit discussing polar bears and writing about the information we learn about them.

Leadership Quality:  Our new leadership quality is justice.  I will be discussing with the students how to be fair with one another, listen to each person's side of the story before making a judgement, and the difference between tattling and informing.  I will also see what the students believe justice to be.  I will be looking for these qualities in the students throughout this month especially.

Sight Words: they, have

Reading: We will continue to work on the same reading strategies. Our new letter team is -er.

Math:  I will introduce simple addition facts to the students.  We will be using manipulatives to visualize the concept.

Writing: I will be starting to add writing goals to each students' journal.  They will be differentiate to focus on each students individual need.  I will meet with the student to discuss this task and make sure they understand what I am asking.

Have a great week!
